Square One

Well,
We're back to square one. It was a long, stressful two weeks waiting on our offer for the house in Springville, but to sum up, we didn't get it due to a clerical error in the bank. Sigh.
I'm not that sad, surprisingly enough, mostly just annoyed that we have to start looking all over again. Luis and I have very different taste in homes- he wants shiny and project-free. I want big and lots of green. Usually our two sets of criteria do not align except in the $500K and up range, so we usually end up fighting over the merits of living in town homes vs. living on century-old 50 acre farms. It gets ugly some times.
So we're back where we were three weeks ago. We have about a week to come up with something before the hospital calls our bluff and cancels the sale for this year, so cross your fingers for us and help us pray that we find the right house for us... or that we start to feel a whole lot better about putting this project off for yet another year.
In the mean time, if you want to see the list of prospective properties we're currently considering (that is growing longer by the day), let me know and I'll email you a few of the better links. Top runners include a truly gargantuan fixer-upper in Orem, a modestly sized home on what used to be my great-grandfather's apple orchards in Alpine, and a steady stream of personality-less brand new homes in Spanish Fork. So the fighting continues...
It's sad, really, that we have this much contention in our home over bounty. You'd think that coming in to some money would help us find some peace and balance, but all it really does is give you more stuff to worry over, lose sleep over, and argue about. Sigh. Will we ever get our act together? Your guess is as good as mine.

Sorry you didn't get the one in Springville. And sorry things are so frustrating and discouraging lately. Just remember, I'm less than ten minutes away and pretty much always home. Love you.
