It's the best day eveeeeeeeeeeeeer!

I love Sponge Bob Square Pants. Mostly because he replaced Barney the big stupid dinosaur in Andrei's daily OCD routine when he was like 3. The title of my post is a song that Sponge Bob sings a lot. It is the title today because I really am having like the best day ever.
First of all, Andrei slept in. This is a huge deal, because the boy has only slept in until 9:30 or later maybe a dozen times in his life. He's been clocking in around 8:45 or so since we moved him on the top bunk on his awesome new bunk-bed (thanks, mom!), but today he made it until almost ten. This is easily like the 4th or 5th time in his life he's done this.
I woke up around 9:15 and it was heaven. This happens in my house only maybe one or two days a year, so that was really cool. The extra sleep and the extra sleep that Andrei got enabled me to make a really killer breakfast- banana nut pancakes with chocolate chips. Yum yum! Luis made delicious, cheesy, scrambled eggs, too! We ate out on the deck once Andrei was up and the weather was perfect. Also, the wasp infestation that we've suffered the last 18 months appears to be dying down, because we were not once interrupted by dive-bombing bees.
After breakfast we got dressed and went over to Harbor Freight Hardware store. On our shopping list were a serious pair of pruners, a new hose and hose reel, and a squeegee to clean our 2nd floor exterior windows. We found everything extremely cheap (yay!) AND we found a set of 10 solar exterior garden lights for- get this- $25!!! Normally those bad boys run $50 and up! I loved them so much that Luis bought me 2 sets for mother's day. YES!
When we got home, Andrei played with the neighbor girl Daniela while Luis went to work using the pruners to cut some huge roots out of our back yard fromt he stupid cotton wood tree and I sprayed the house for bugs. I took some Sevin and sprayed around the foundation of the house (yes, that is the correct spelling of the product's name) and I used up about 3 cans of wasp and hornet killer spraying new nests around the perimiter of the house. It was like a bee apocolypse, and I was the winner.
Then I played around with my new drip line sprinkler, which is possibly the coolest thing I've ever done with a hose. I have the entire patio set up on a drip line, now, so no more lugging around hoses and watering cans for me! Sweet!
Anyway, it's pretty much been the perfect day. Andrei is going to his mom's house for Mother's Day (btw I won the betting pool on that one- she was supposed to call at 10 a.m. Luis bet that she wouldn't call until 2. I said 4. She called at 4:02). I'll miss him, but it will be nice to have a weekend alone with my husband for once, too. Tomorrow the priesthood are taking over Primary so we can all enjoy a day off. That is pretty much the coolest thing that's happened to me in a long time.
So, all you moms, grandmas, aunts, daughters, and moms-yet-to-be out there, I hope you have an awesome weekend as well.

That does sound like an awesome day! Too bad you won't have Andrei with you on Mother's Day, but like you said, at least you get a nice, quiet day. Enjoy it! (HUGS)
