You Asked for It!

Well, since I've had multiple requests to post pictures of my new furniture I thought I'd just bite the bullet and post pictures of the entire house since most of you haven't seen it yet- and those of you who have haven't seen it's most recent incarnation.

The blue room is Andrei's room with our old spray painted dresser in it. See. I told you it didn't look like spray paint.

The paintings in the kitchen and bathroom are ones I did in my oils class at BYU.

Forgive the mess in the guest bedroom and bathroom. That's where my mother and sister-in-law are staying and they're not as picky with home decor as I am, and it's normally not so cramped, but with the baby coming they are pretty much packed in there.
This is a random shot of my laundry room. It's kind of a catch-all in our house where cleaning products, surplus paper goods from Costco, and all of the dogs' stuff gets crammed. I keep promising myself I'll clean and organize it, but I'm grossly outnumbered right now in the cleaning arena, and no matter what I do my MIL will just impose her own system on the space, so I'm saving that project for after my in-laws relocate.

I posted pictures of my deck and the view of the new elementary school from my kitchen. It really is as close as it looks. The gigantic plant at the bottom of the stairs in the outside pictures is a single tomato vine I planted in March. I didn't get a good shot of the fireplace, but it's under the tv in the great room(?), which is at the top of the stairs. The formal living room is at the bottom of the stairs, and is pictured next to the entryway.

Going down the stairs from the entry is the media room, the exit to the back patio pictured here with the black bench and vines, and the guest bedroom/bathroom. Not pictured is the garage which enters into the media room and our crawl space/storage, which is actually kind of a half basement with low ceilings.
The video game regalia in the media room are from X-Box night- a 3 year old tradition that Luis and his friends have of getting together weekly to play video games. Yes. They're 3o+ executives and small business owners who giggle like 8 year olds while playing video soccer. Classy, huh?

And last but not least are pictures of our bedroom, decorated all fancy-like. Yay Ikea! Sorry Sara- living without Ikea is the price you pay for having the cheapest gas on the planet and a McDonald's delivery guy, while living down the street from the ancient monuments of one of the greatest civilizations of all time. I have super cool dressers, you have King Tut. :)
Anyway, here you go! Enjoy!

Lookin' good, Homestar! I love your house. Which, by the way, is always so much cleaner than mine. Want to send you mother in law my way for a bit and let her whip my home into shape? I'll even set up a bed in the baby's room for her. Oh, and I likes the new furniture. Yay for being a grownup with matching bedroom furniture. Ah, someday...

I'd send you mama to whip your hous in to shape except that she's really only good at doing the dishes and the laundry. I really appreciate that, but she kind of makes bigger messes than she actually cleans because she brings 3 suitcases at a time and spreads everything out. And she redecorates. I can't find anything ever because someone's moved it. I don't mind. It's just mildly irritating and funny.

I'll take her anyway. If she takes care of dishes and laundry (my two biggest banes) then that'll free me up more to get all the re-organizing done that I want to. And I'll actually have time to put my baby's room together before she's here and needs it. :)
