So today I finished the Couch to 5K program... kind of. These past nine weeks I've been running trying to build up stamina so I've kept the pace slow and have been shooting for the time goals instead of the distance goals. I've officially completed the timed program, but I'm not nearly up to 5 K. So starting tonight I went back to week 6 and I'm pushing myself for distance now.
I would like to send a shout out to Jamiroquai, MJ, Beyonce', and Gwen Stefani for helping me beat my personal record on the mile... twice. I have never run a mile faster than 13 minutes before. Tonight I ran 2 11 minute miles. How's that for progress!
There's kind of a group of us that are all running now (thanks to my sister Heather), so if you have jogging stories or just want to get in on the fun, let me know. I've been kind of thinking of starting a fitness blog for real women (not those skinny weirdos who only eat like 800 calories a day and then burn them all off doing triathalons twice a week). I'm thinking it could be a place where we can post pictures of our tracks and our times, etc. Maybe include a space for eating plans or whatever. I don't know if that would be lame, though. What do you think?
