I realize that I have literally nothing to talk about these days except the new house, and that it must sound awfully braggy and snobby of me to talk so much about a house (after all, it's just a house, not a life) but please indulge me for a bit more. It is such a momentous event in my life and I don't have large enough vocabulary to find a word that conveys exactly how happy, relieved, grateful, and excited I am to finally be moving on.
Here's some perspective: When I was 17, I moved into my Aunt's house in Springville during my first semester of college. I didn't much care for it, and moved out a few months later to a small basement apartment on 500 N and approx. 200 E in Provo. Over the next year, I moved again to an apartment on 800 N and 700 E. I stayed there until I got married. Our first apartment was on 900 N and 40 E in Provo. We lived there until we bought our starter house on 900 N and 300 W.... in Provo. Our next house, the home we've shared for the past 5 years, is on 1100 N and 3000 W in, you guessed it, Provo!
If you were counting, I've lived no more than 3 blocks north or south of the same road (800 N) in the same town (Provo) for the past 13 years.
Imagine living in Provo for 13 years. On essentially the same street. Yeah. This move is a big deal to me, for A LOT of reasons. Last night I filled in my new address (on LAKEVIEW DRIVE! A street with an actual name!) in the town of...... VINEYARD! I must confess that I shed a tear of joy.
True, Vineyard is just 5ish minutes away from where we live now, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a whole new beautiful world.
