Around the House

I've been pretty lazy blogging about my projects lately. Call it Spring Fever, but I'd rather spend most of my available time soaking up the little bit of light that we're starting to get around here.
In no particular order, here are a few of the things I've been doing around the house in the past few weeks.

Project #1: Painting the Boy's Room.
Before- Dark blue. Very dark blue. Depressingly dark blue.
After- Sunny, sunny yellow. Much better, right?
Also, please note the crazy awesome quilts I made by hand this past summer. I gots da mad skillz!
That stupid blue was impossible to cover up. I had to put 3 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. Yikes! Oh well, SO worth it.

Project #2: Chalkboard for the kitchen
I have been wanting a chalkboard for the kitchen to maintain an ongoing grocery list and a list of our dinner plans for the week. I couldn't find anything that I liked, so I made one by spray painting a used cupboard door with chalk board paint. It was Lu's idea to stick it to the fridge. I think it looks awesome, and it comes in handy when I am standing around at 5 thinking, "what am I going to make for dinner?"

Project #3: Seed Starting
It's that time of year again! I've had seed trays out all over the kitchen for about 2 weeks now. Awesome. Pretty much everything has sprouted except my Nigella.
I have everything under a grow light in the garage for the time being, but a few babies (like my peas) will hopefully be moving outside in a couple of weeks.

So there you go. Projects for Spring!
